1909s vdb. You vs PCGS

Had this for a while, but recently cracked out for the album....it had some PVC so I gave her a light acetone bath. I know my pics aren't the greatest, but give it a shot.

  • I like the die crack reverse but the coin is not in a holder at does not look like it is so how are we supposed to go against PCGS

  • PCGS gave it an AU58! Thanks for the guesses! I don't really see any wear, but the obverse luster is subdued compared to the reverse, so I am guessing that played a role in a non-MS grade.

    I have a Randall Hoard large cent they also graded AU58....I guess they see some cabinet friction or something, but frankly the
    coin is uncirculated.

    It looks to me like there is rub on Mr. Lincoln, especially on his cheek.

    Agreed. The cheek bone and beard have a hint of rub. That's why I graded it 58.
