From that photo, those coins look lower end BU or possibly AU in some cases. As such, they probably
won't be worth slabbing, but a handful appear to have very pleasing color.
  • The last coin was put in the album in the early 60s and they are going to stay there as this was more a gift than a purchase. I will post the other pages in a couple of minutes.

    Just the way I like them . . . Congrats ! ! !

Have you popped one out to see if the reverse has toned?

I have a set in a Dansco, some are really starting to tone.

Edited to add: Really anticipating seeing the other page! image

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

Reminds me of the coins that used to come in drove into the B&M that I used to hang around. The owner would pull out one or two (maybe none) to put into to (for resale rolls) like the 55s and dump the rest into bulk silver for melting or resale and stack the old folder to give to a YN or sell cheap to a novice.

I believe the pulled for cirulation back in the day angle because of the dates that are missing and the limited printed date range of the folder coupled with the almost terminal toning. All of those look like melt with no upside to these eyes.
  • Yep reverses are toned as well not as much though. These are getting fairly dark and I appreciate your comment crypto as Rico would not like these either. I will flip them tomorrow if I get a chance and take some pics and post them. I have to figure out what I should be looking for besides full bands.

Outrageous color and/or strong cartwheeling mint luster. I don't think you're likely to find either with that group.
Also, marks should be minimal and not in prime focal areas.

You're probably right about the value . . . But ain't it great to collect some cool coins regardless of price tag ! ! !

Plus it's not a bad way to sock back a lil silver . . .

Bet these would look great in a white Capital Plastics holder. image

Looks good to me. image I got a Roosie '46 - '64 album (missing 5 date/mm) about 10 days ago. It walked into a B&M while I was there and the B&M dealer flipped it to me after the seller left.
  • These are a great example of original coins that are not messed with. They show what toning looks like in an album after 50 years. I think they are cool.

Here's a snapshot of some of the coins in the Dansco album I just sold to a specialist forum member - sounded
like he got some pretty good results after he submitted a few of them:
