Time to say something nice!

I've been reflecting over my last several postings and realized I was being quite the Negative Nelly (no offense intended to any Nellys out there--sort like the Chatty Cathy thing, I'm not so chatty in person in general!).

So in the interests of reflecting on the positives: I had a great time in Baltimore and got one big coin (and lots of smaller ones to play with). I met some cool people (and even chatted with one guy from Michigan who's daughter is in the Public Health Service) and bought some very nice coins with friendly, happy and helpful dealers. I've been emailing back and forth with some ebay sellers who fit that mold and send extra pictures. I found a new seller on VCoins who I like. I bought online from Wizard Coin Supplies with fast service and reliable results (and by the way their sports card Intercept boxes hold slabs just fine--no dividers and no inner boxes, but hey, great for the more minor slabs). I've bought a few coins online from other dealers with fine results. I dropped off a few coins in Baltimore and some are already on their way back with as expected or better than expected grades. Both PCGS and NGC were very friendly when I dropped of <$100 coins that needed reslabbing for errors on the labels...and PCGS didn't even care I don't have a submitting membership. I've been enjoying the eye candy from the forum. I have some great new books to read about Ancient coins.

So there, enough of my negative comments!

Who else has a nice positive thing to say? Pictures welcome (but please dish on how you take your nice photos. Mine have been on the iPhone lately and though they are better than many I used to take with my real camera (YIKES) I hope to add photography as one of my semi-retired/work part time skills. There was a dino-lite set up at Baltimore I wish I'd stopped and looked at in retrospect, but oh well.

In support of Rainbows and Sunshine, I took this today on my window sill, with my iPhone and my only editing was the crop feature on the phone itself. How can this not make you smile?

Awesome toning. If it looks that nice in a quickie phone picture, imagine how it would look with a TrueView or photograph of similar quality.

Excellent post Cathy...positive attitude is so hard to find on the internet these days, it's refreshing to read a post like yours.

Positives, positives...hmmm...there are many positive things about the hobby I could say but I shall say that I love the historical aspect of it, and I love the breadth of it...what other hobby allows you to cover the entire world and 3000 years worth of history? I can't think of any!
