Looks Like Amazon is doing what eBay Wishes they could

It appears Amazon only sells certified coins. Imagine the angst and drama that would be avoided if eBay did the same.
Am I making a correct assumption about Amazon? Thanks.

When I buy an estate there are raw coins that make no sense to grade. I need a market for those other than shows. Which means that I cannot use Amazon for all of my coins. Just some.
Who? Amazon?
What type of eagles? ASEs AGEs or pre-1933 eagles?

Yeah.... no.
70% certified, and only 30% at most raw, for their site.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Most of the angst and drama involved in eBay purchases is self inflicted, if the posts here about eBay problems with raw coins are any indication.
I agree and disagree. Yes, the most acute pain is often self-inflicted, but I made that "angst" observation from experience.
I have never bought a raw coin on eBay that I ended up liking after I had it in hand. I made many attempts. A lot of my certified coins were sometimes disappointing, but none of them were blatant rip-offs like the raw coins.
I don't buy any coins from eBay any more. My best purchases of raw coins have been on the trusty BST.

<< <i>How are the selling fees on amazon for coins? Is it more/less expensive than eBay? >>
more expensive.....
edited to add: Given ebay's track record of chasing sellers away, this seems like a logical progression for them......

<< <i>Here's my theory: CLCT will enable Collectors Club members to list for free on Collectors Corner and fees will be less than Ebay's are. They are doing this now for Sports Cards. All payments are through PayPal. Fees are 2%-5%. The pilot in Sports Cards is through the Registry sets. You can list cards on Collectors Corner. If you have a "hole" in your Registry Set you get alerted when a card comes up for sale. >>
In theory, the above arrangement is attractive for CC members, but if they as non-dealers provide too much competition for dealers that have an established niche at Collectors Corner, that spells trouble. The dealers who presently participate on Collectors Corner are there because they pay a subscription fee to CCE, which is much higher than what CC Platinum level members pay on an annual basis.

They are higher cost....just build it into your price
The other major hurdle for part timers is AMAZON's requirements. Right now it's invite only. You must have an AML (Anti-Money Laundering) program on file along with a few other items that the average E-Bay seller will not have. They might relax these requirements, but not in the short-term.
On the positive side, Amazon does all the processing of payments etc. Makes things a tad easier, but they have a long way to go.

No, Amazon does not restrict to certified and also allows the seller to state a grade. At eBay, you cannot state a grade unless certified.

They haven't announced it for coins... yet. Just cards. Collectors Corner only has FOUR (4) paying card members. Collectors Corner is not a big money maker for CLCT as it stands right now. I think it really could be if they get into auctions
