  are you sure this coin is fake, looks to have some enviormental issues, but doest look fake to me

  imo, it isn't fake but it is altered. the leg has been "dug" out. the coin isn't even the correct die state.

  some one took a normal Buffalo ang ground out the missing leg. They do not look like that at all. The rear leg is wrong as is the area under the belly. The nickel is real but the 3 leg is fake so I guess I should call it an altered buffalo to look like a 3 leg. does that help those that asked? or not one diagnostic for a 3 leg is correct.

  I reported it before the item ended, unbid. It is indeed an altered coin. Notice that he claimed NGC certification and listed a PCGS number, but that is just the reference number for the coin and not a slab number. The picture is of a raw coin.

  I contacted the seller and gave them a link to all the images for a reference and low and behold the description changed. It is a counterfeit 3 1/2 leg Buffalo nickel. I like this series so when I see a raw coin in a listing I look at it. I have probably reported over 20 in the last couple months.

  i am of the mind that it is the same type as the one posted before it but just highly overexposed lighting and i think they are both referred to as chinese counterfeits.

  I agree I actually reported 20 coins today and yes I know many of you do more but that is good for me and yes I was sure of what I was reporting and included a link to a PCGS page to prove it in hopes they would see that and be more proactive.
