If you are looking to raise money on ebay for something then bullion coins , junk silver , AGE's , ASE's etc. listed at priced to move buy nows with immediate payment is the way to go.
Post one at the right price and it can sell in minutes. Boom mail it and post another. You could sell 7 $500 coins to 7 different buyers and they would be delivered before a 7 day auction listing would even end.
With an auction you have to let it run its course , you can't control the price it sells for and you can't control how fast the buyer pays.
Pay $20 to open an ebay store for a month and it will cut your coin final value fees in half. You can either pocket more money or lower the price a little to sell faster .
Sorry to hear about your troubles man. You asked for advise and you got all kinds of it. Some of us on opposite ends of the spectrum.
I hope it all works out and that is a long time to wait for payment. Why are you not sharing the buyer so that everyone around here can "say" they are going to block the deadbeat?

The cancel and blocking of the guy who just spent 1800 bucks with you is certainly not helping matters.
Finally, you have not provided a link to the auctions or buyers feedback page, so this whole thing is based on assumption that this is the whole story, which sometimes is not the case.

If you want the buyers user name pm me. The coins are 3x 2011p revPf ASEs and a 12w burnished. All are graded by NGC or PCGS. A few have very minor spotting which I describe accurately in the listing. Shipping was $10 for $1800 - which will be priority express insured. I guess he can negative me ,if so that will be 1 of 980 positives. If he negs me I will follow up with eBay to see if I can remove it, I think I would have a pretty strong case for revenge as his true motive.

Don't sweat things that haven't happened yet and likely won't. Despite what some here might think, I'm sure the reason you got paid was because you filed the case. There are some buyers who are more than happy to string you along thinking you're just going to happily sit there and wait until they feel like paying- if they pay at all. I've been on eBay since 1997 and have heard just about every excuse in the book for late or non payment. One of my favorites was that the bidder was looking at the listing while holding his baby girl in his lap, and she started hitting the keyboard and placed the bid, and he didn't have time to retract it. Sounds plausible, almost... that is, until the facts were presented that a)you have to go through more than one step to successfully bid, b)the bid amount was pretty much exactly the market value of the piece (pretty smart kid eh?) and finally, that the bid was placed two days before the auction's end, thus quashing the "no time to retract" theory... we got paid about 48 hrs. later.
