Any results yet from PCGS restoration services?

Anyone submit silver proofs, aluminum proofs, copper proofs, anything??

Before and after images to show us??

I did a DMPL with a purple stain on it, came out good. I could knew where it had been so I could faintly tell where it was on the coin.

I was very happy with the service, but your coins are a whole different level.

Much better eye appeal on the Washington Proof. I like it.

1864 Small Motto PR63BN. As often for this grade, a poorly reflective obverse. Very flashy RB on the reverse but a deep-bluish "stain" that covered 15%.

Post-Restoration the "stain" close to totally disappeared with fully exposed reverse mirrors not impaired in any way. LOL, maybe flashier than

$30,000+ coin

Not mine, but saw it in-hand both before and after.

I sent in a 1849 Seated Dollar, "AU Details - Questionable Color" in...it was returned in record time with a post-it note on it; "There is nothing we can do with this coin", although they did image it, not a TrueView;

Couple of ugly or PVC coins returned "MA bright white" which should at least make it easier to get out of them to obtain quality on the flip. I have seen a few disasters where the submitter got more than they bargained for. Don't think they do diluted dips, just full test.

Yes. I submitted this for a client. I wish I had a "before" picture but I did not take one. There was actually a piece of shard plastic (Maybe tape?) that was sticking up off the surface on the obverse 4:00 position. I could not believe how the coin every got into a slab in the first place, and in fairness I did not see it until I put under the stereoscope, but sure enough it was there and very prominent once you knew where to look. It is gone now and the otherwise the coin looks nicer, but very similar. Because of the value of the coin the cost to conserve it was 4 figures and it took over 2 months. I was told that David Hall looks at each coin at every step of the process. So I felt good about that.

AMRC was the cost of restoration covered by an increase in value for the coin? With the coin being holdered were costs covered?
