Q David Bowers made a mistake, impossible
The Guide Book of U. S. Commemoratives 2008 edition on page145 has the Bay Bridge commemorative as a 1936. It should have been 1936-S. I got one in the mail today with the S on it. I said this can't be, they didn't make an S. Well Bowers is wrong, they did make only an S mint.
Well my type set is up to 22 coins, all bought within the past month and a half. Every one is white PCGS. I now expect to finish it in the next six months. I have only sent back two of them. I think I am doing well.

Most of the single mint issued early commems are rarely offered with the mint mark in the description as it's just common knowledge for anyone who specializing in the series.

didn't know commems come in white,
Ken Bressett will be all over anything reported to him, and while it is perversely enjoyable to make sport over the whole thing, the fact is the Whitman guys are very serious about doing a good job and will welcome all input. The list of contributors to the Redbook is very long for a reason.

Agreed as to the bridge though the steamship, which looks more like a monopoly piece, merely adds to the scene and is not impressively artistic in it own right. However to my eye the bearded bear just looks a little off and too two dimensional. It is a rare artist that can get landscapes and animals both correct. Still one of the most appealing of the commems and with rainbow toning on the bridge side it can be spectacular.

I would beg to differ.
One typo does not condemn an entire collection of books.

How many edits did it take you to generate your eight sentence pearls of wisdom.
I only had to read it four times before I finally realized that you got yourself a Bay Bridge Commem.
Congratulations. One of my favorites.

That's awesome!
