Does this seller seem legit?

I am actually very interested in this very high-end Jackie Robinson Bat Knob card. The seller has had it listed a few times, lowering his price each time.

The thing is, he has a feedback score of ZERO. Which is a major red flag.

He seems very eBay savvy though, not at all like a seller with zero feedback.

Am I protected by eBay for such a high dollar card?

Here is the listing.

I never heard of the guy, but I think your instincts are right on: the listing looks professionally done. Scammers don't usually go through that much detail, four photo shots, etc.

Can't help you on whether it's worth it or not, though...but, good luck!

That's an awful lot of money for that card. I'd continue to wait it out and let him keep lowering the price.

I can't imagine anyone paying that much or anything even close to that.

I can't imagine anybody trying to sell such a high dollar card on Ebay with zero feedback. I would pass.

I wouldn't buy that. The newer stuff won't retain as much value and it's a specialty item.

I think this is a 1960's bat. The lettering on the knob does not match the lettering style on knob from this bat. http://sports.mearsonlineauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=60878

Thanks for the research guys. Yeah, I better find out exactly what bat this came from before I even consider making an offer. No way am I paying $2500.

Not sure how Topps thinks they could get away with using a store model or other non-game used bat for this.

I'm sure it would not be the first time a card company did that!

You are protected by the eBay buyer protection plan anyways. You really don't have much to lose here

It's game used, just not by Jackie Robinson. This is what it probably is http://www.goldinauctions.com/lot-6417.aspx
