Can anyone help me with an 1839-o seated dime variety?
I checked out the seated dime variety website and am having trouble learning how to identify the variety on this one, anyone able to help?
Also I have been working on my photography...hows the progress??

You need a copy stand, or at least hold the coin by its edge
It isn't a big deal with this particular coin because it is well-circulated, but you don't want to handle MS coins like that.
I usually would hold it more carefully but being the low grade I figured it couldn't really do much harm! I don't have many MS raw pieces but I am very careful with those!
F-105 and F-105a are the most commonly seen of the 1839-O varieties.

I don't see the cracks for the late die states, which rules out F-103 and F-105b.
This suggests it is F-105 or F-105a.

<< <i>It seems fairly clear that it's Large O, Reverse D.
