Good news! The nice thing about registered there is ALWAYS someone who has responsibility...it still might get lost/stolen/ruined, but there will be a name to be accountable. I guess it just takes finding the right guy to put in the work to find the person...6 weeks and movement, I will bet you see it eventually (mine sat for 4 MONTHS in one spot--I had figured at that travel rate 3 miles/month it might take something like 127 years to reach me...or something like that).

It arrived and in hand even though the scan shows a different zip code. I think the NGC pressure made it happen. Fedex overnight/Private insurance is what we do going forward.

    Thanks everyone for the support.

Congrats Zohar. Slowish, and certainly reason for concern -- but really glad it turned out for you in the end. image

I have been watching this thread with interest (but I have not posted because I did not have anything encouraging to add).

I am very happy to see that there was a suprise reunion between you and your Thalers!

Thanks again everyone for the support and wishes. To an outsider (like my wife) it would seem that we have some kind of strange obsession with these round pieces of metal. My wife was saying - "oh, you have insurance? Good, get your money back" as if this is a pair of shoes. Difficult to explain to most people beyond the monetary value.

I will image them and share in the next few days.

I can understand where she is coming from. To those not afflicted, ours is a strange way of spending time and money.

I'm happy you got your goods.

I had a coin mailed insured from Chicago on January 14.
It sat in the Chicago post office for a week and arrived on January 28.
The recent bad weather may have had something to do with the delay.
