The issue is only pop. 4 because too few collectors have enough interest in the event to even consider obtaining and having an example graded. Maybe a little more emphasis on educating the community here would improve the standing of a pop. 4 when there is probably a current pop. of fewer than 50 dedicated collectors of the event. image

If it is currently in a NGC holder, good luck getting the attribution corrected on their dime. They refuse to guarantee variety attributions, but I'm sure you already know about that. image

  • I won't say all but many pops are skewed for the very reason stated, errors that are both positive and negative to those pops.

Not in good form to ask.

And even if it were determined that the purchase would be eligible for You Suck™ had you not asked, asking precludes ever receiving one for that transaction.

Come on, you make it sound like he is requesting an emmy.

    Congrats on the nice surprise.

Well, it really is in poor form to ask. However, if the deal is truly "YOU SUCK" worthy, you would be eligible for a You Suck.

But, is it enough of a rip to qualify? I don't think so.

    Cheers,

It sucks that you're asking for You Sucks.

Not sure but seems a "you suck" award requires a certain degree of jealousy emotion from the giver. Not sure a SCD can do this with this crowd. However, a lesser award, say a "you devil" or slightly lower "you rascal" award should exist for such cases that do not quite exhibit the jealousy factor that a "you suck" award requires.

Typically, a You Suck, in the olden days or Marty and Russ, required somewhere around a 1,000% profit over the original purchase price. AND, it had to be a sale. NOT a "well this coin could sell for x amount of dollars" type scenario.

  • When people have received a you suck for a 1000% profit sale off of an unsuspecting seller has anyone ever kicked back money to the original owner? hum should be a new thread oh well. I still don't know the cost difference of you purchase to value, this should be disclosed for consideration of the group at large so it can be determined if you would even qualify. As a dealer I would think you made a fair offer to the customer you got the coin from and thus educated them as to the difference in them, is this correct?

Probably a shill bidder involved with this sale...Back at Ya...

At last count I had 23 hard times and merchant tokens wrongly attributed variety designations certified by NGC all of which I knew what I was really buying. I thought I'd dropped off at their table at a show to get them corrected once I hit a box of 20 but they just kept coming. It's not uncommon at a major show to find 1/2 a dozen or more TPG mistakes on exonumia and some are so far off they are quite comical.
