How to prevent spots on modern proof coins?
I went to a coin show today and was browsing through a selection of slabbed Franklin half dollar proofs in high grade. Many of the coins had milk spots despite being in PR65 through PR67 holders. In my opinion, a milk spot on a proof coin is ugly and should disqualify a coin for grade higher than PR63. I'm guessing these coins were spot-free when slabbed and later developed spots while in the holder.
How can I prevent spots from forming on modern proof coins? The coin I have in question is a 1961 PR67 Franklin half dollar in an NGC holder. As of now, it is completely spot-free and I would like to keep it that way. I live in Texas where there is high humidity. I've tried using silica gel packets in my safety deposit box, but they hardly last any time before becoming saturated, even when I use tightly sealed Ziplock bags.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hope this helps.
...I've seen mentioned on the forums that many recommend dipping in acetone before submitting to the TPG's as a preventative for spots in the future.
