Mission16: <<Are there any currently available for sale? >>
I doubt that any are for sale right now. Two were auctioned on Jan. 10th. Both are PCGS certified. My current article may answer some questions in the minds of those who posted to this thread.
. not to take away from analyst's post/link but for anyone that hasn't, and has access to the catalog and wants to have a great read; look at Dan Holmes I (part 1) (red cover) 10-6-2009 start page 25? Courtesy of Larry & Ira Goldberg. .
BigMoose: <<Greg Hannigan had the two Strawberry Leaf Large Cents from the Mervis Collection for sale on his web site but it looks like they have sold. >>
In my article, I make clear that Greg Hannigan was the successful bidder for both at the Holmes I sale in Sept. 2009. My article also reveals that Hannigan sold both of these to Mervis in March. 2011. Hannigan was not the buyer of either on Jan. 10, 2014.
Lance Newman,
There is information in my article that is not found in the Goldberg/McCawley/Grellman Holmes catalogue or in the Heritage Mervis Catalogue. Please read.

IIRC the finest (should we say highest graded?) was, as related by Analyst, sold about 10 years ago in an ANR auction. The business name of the buyer is Scorpio. . .
