1992 Barry Bonds Double

I was going through my collection today and sorting them and came across a 1992 Topps and 1992 Fleer. Both pictures of Bonds are identical! Not shot from different angles or a later moment, identical!! Has this happened before?

I could see Topps doing that within their own photo archive, but this is Topps and Fleer. Do they not have their own photographers?
Also on the Fleer card ... look at his left hand. There is no gap between his fingers and his uniform as there is on the Topps.
And another ... on the Fleer card take a look at the sleeve on his right arm ... there is a lot of uniform showing behind it, much more than on the Topps card.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Nope, not quite identical. Check out the shadow on his right thigh. His left hand is also slightly closer to his left leg.

But I don't believe they have the same pictures on cards from different manufacturers, do they? Topps did use the same picture for a lot of guys on different year cards, especially in the mid-late 60s.

<< <i>As much as they look the same, I believe they are different. May have been from the same play, but I see a couple of slight differences. On the Fleer card take a look at the "tongue" on the right shoe ... it overlaps the left shoe. Not so on the Topps card.

Wow - you guys have good eyes. I used to have this game on my iPhone from ESPN where you had to point out five differences between two photos. I was challenged. You guys would crush this.

Probably taken by the same photographer a split second apart.
Very neat !
is Vander Wal charging the mound with a shank ?

Yup! Here's the aftermath.

I see the differences you spotted. They look identical because the tobacco can was in the same area. The creases and folds on his uniform are the same. His expression is the same as well. I would guess it would a split second difference between the two cards.

C'mon, tell me you weren't looking at Barry's azz! LOL

ha !
<< <i>The 82 Topps In Action and 82 Fleer Rod Carew's are identical.. >>
Like the Bonds ... REAL close, but not the same. Check out just above his bent leg ... look how much of the dugout you can see ... it's different on the two pictures. Probably taken milliseconds apart ...

That is as close as you can get.

Also Topps is clearly the better printer in this matter.
But its really hard to say because the printing is different. The Fleer is so much darker. But if I were to guess, it looks like his right leg is slightly higher on the Topps card than on the Fleer card.
<< <i>Same photo, but photoshopped?
Yeah! That looks like the Elite version removed the blue stripe on the side of his shirt!
Also removed the logo on the helmet.
