2nd hand "You suck"/rip-off 1895-S Morgan

I have a cousin who is a flea-market/yard-sale hound.
He calls me Saturday that he bought an 1895-S Morgan (VF/XF) at a yard sale for $20...actually 3 diff dates for $60.
He told her he thought it was "worth more" than that. She said she was happy to sell it to him because our local pawn shop (who is knowledgeable about coins) offered $12 each.
This is wrong on many levels, but sheesh!!!
I don't do pics, but would send them to someone (crappy phone pics) if someone wants to post them.

I'm surprised they offered $12 for that coin. Most pawn shops I know are pretty savvy when it comes to identifying fakes like that one.

Doubt the local pawn shop ever saw the coins.

i figured about 70% they were bad just from reading but i still agree with the above as i was still hoping the 30% would hold up.

edit to add: I assumed they were fake when he told me.
The date on this one is the easiest tell. It is crooked and misshapen.
The term "Chinese counterfeit" is thrown about but who knows where it came from. It's of similar cheap quality as some coming from that country, but not all. Some Chinese counterfeits are pretty scary good.

Happen to the flea market dealers here while back, guy comes in plays dumb about inheriting a morgan collection, all coins are fakes, dealer looses his *ss
Not just looking at it as a fake 1895-S, but take a regular Morgan, look at the edges, the overall look, what a silver dollar looks like, even in well worn condition.
The one shown is just worthless metal run through a tumbler with some oil, or something similar, to look worn and hide what would be noticed if compared to a mint state copy.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
