Teletrade still is up and running

Somone had said last week was their last auction, but I see they have one running for this week.

Saw that too. Perhaps they were not taking on new consignments, but finishing up current obligations.

The consign button says nothing about taking no more.

    Perhaps we were trolled.

Stacks Bowers Internet Auctions is essentially Teletrade under a different name so whether the Teletrade name is around or not doesn't really make much difference. It's the same staff under the same operation as Teletrade.

TT is a mere shadow of what it used to be and certainly seems irrelevant at this point. doesn't any attempt to stay up and running come across as futile??

It is another option to browse at, it's their cost if they decide to operate. I hope they stick around.

There is still one area where TT beats out GC--the bargain price for having your varieties PCGS graded.

Teletrade gets it done @ $15, while GC will charge you the full $24.
  • The misinformation on this board regarding Teletrade is amazing. I called Teletrade and the CSR I spoke with verified that the online weekly auctions will continue but the name will be changing to Stack's Bowers as some others have mentioned. The change will be occurring within the next few weeks. At that time, browser requests to teletrade.com will be redirected to a stacksbowers.com URL. In the meantime, everything is business as usual. Consignments are still being accepted, and there will be at least a couple more auctions under the TT name. Look for an announcement to be coming out shortly.

Glad to see they are still around. I like Teletrade done considerable business with them both buying and selling.

I'm confused by all the confusion here about what is going on. They had a Press Release back in July about this. There was a thread here discussing it. Subsequent to that, Spectrum said they would spin out AMark into a separate company and take SBG private. SBG would have all the Spanish lawsuit issues (fact) and potential pending bankruptcy (IMO)
