I have seen a bunch of coins stamped Ford. There was liberty nickle up just a couple weeks ago. They are not that uncommon. I couldn't find anything that made it clear on the origins. Still neat though.

You can find counterstruck coins dated form the 1890's to 1960's with Ford on all denominations from the 1c to 50c quite regularly on the web. There's a Ford section in Brunk as I recall and your coin is best left raw.

When I was collecting in Detroit in the early 1960's I found two or three various coins with the script "Ford" on them. To the best of my knowledge nobody ever proved where they came from.

I just ran across an IHC last week.

It's pretty interesting that no one knows where these came from.

I wonder what would happen if someone took a new company logo like Google or Facebook and started counterstamping coins in circulation image
