Remember how the Sultan of Swat pointed to centerfield and then sent one out of the park in the '35 World Series ? I know you can do the same ! Anxious to see you back here soon.
Mbogoman Your attitude will help and I can assure you that your will be back on these boards sooner than you think. You will lose the remining 10% hearing in that ear but otherwise fully recover. Looking forward to hearing from you soon and prayers are with you. Best!

Many thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts and words. I have the greatest confidence in my neurosurgery team - they are one of the most experienced in the country - but still, the thought of somebody cutting into my head is a little unsettling to say the least. I'm off to the pre-op meeting in a couple hours, so this will be my last post until I return. Again, thanks for all the wonderful words and prayers...

I would have only said pretty much the exact same words, ESPECIALLY the part right after 'good luck!'.....and listening to your surgeon is an important part. If you trust him enough to, well, do what he's going to do, you can certainly do as he says during recoup time.
Good luck and Godspeed! Note that Louis Eliasberg acquired the Clapp Collection while bedridden with a game leg. After your operation, allow the enjoyment of numismatics to speed your recovery!
Mark, thank you for the update, and we are all so pleased that the surgery was a success with minimal side affects. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for continued positive results during your recovery.
By the way, my hubby is deaf in one ear and he doesn't see it too much as a detriment - he likes to sleep with his good ear on the pillow so he can't hear noises when he's trying to fall asleep (especially me when I'm overly chatty!).
Sounds about as best as can be hoped! Congratulations!

Good news with the update. Most folks recover rather well from this(except for the permnent deafness on one side). Now let the healing continue and we welcome you back as strong as ever! Best to you!

Good to hear you made it thru....never a good thing to partially lose your hearing...but in the grand picture....you are no longer in pain....and the tumor is gone from your body.....now I pray for your speedy COMPLETE recovery!!!
Fantastic update! The effect of anesthesia is largely related to the time of surgery. Six hours is enough to make anyone loopy for a while. Very good news that they were able to preserve the facial and trigeminal nerves. Speedy recovery, Bwana m'bogo.
Thanks for the update and I'm happy that the outcome was what you expected thus far. Hang in there - your recovery might take some time, but be patient.

Glad to hear things went well. keep strong and don't get down if recovery seems slow it will be up and down. It still is for me. Even if you feel you do not want to use the motorized scooters at the stores, use them anyway so you can get out of the house. It really help me to get out and around with out hte worry of falling etc... You sound like you have a strong handle on this so you will do great.
That sounds like a decent outcome! A little wobbly is certainly to be expected. Glad to hear you're on the mend!
