Another Efake?? 1878s Rev 1921??? Or ???

You are goofy.

Looks good to me. But, no worries, I won't be bidding you up on it. The mm does not look like a 1921 mm to me. Could be fake despite my opinion--let's hear from the VAM experts!!

Woops. Meant 1879s, not 1878s. In any event, the top feather on the arrow is parallel which would make it a 1879s rev 78 but it's way fatter than it should be if it was a rev 78. It's not tapered like the 1879s rev 79.

The reason I said the 1921 is that from what I looked at, that top feather remained tapered until 1921 and that's when it took on the "fat parallel" look. Maybe I am getting goofy and need to take a break from looking at coins.

i 100% disagree it resembles the rev of a 21 p,d,s - the only thing looks a bit off to me is the date but i'm not up for vamming those small images or doing a date comp. i feel like melted butter at this point

Looks real. The lighting is playing tricks on you with the shape of the top arrow feather.

Wow Lance. After all that I bet you do feel like melted butter. Great post with all the pics. In looking at all the rev's you posted, to me it really looks close to the 21d. Like I said, I went with the 1921 rev because that was the closest one I found to what was on the rev of the coin in question.

Great to know the auction was cancelled. That was quick! It would be great if Ebay had a picture quality guideline that had to be met before a listing could be posted. ha ha

Got a response that it is 26.67grams and 31.1mm. Spot on but she ended the auction to take it
to a dealer to have it looked at a little closer.

I disagree with your disagreeing that it does not look like a 21.

The MM does not look like a 21, but the AF are parallel and not slanted and they are fat like a 21. Also look at the shaft, the nock, on the eBay specimen. It is neither the 78 short nor long nock. It looks more like the 21 nock. And it is not a 79 rev because it is definitely not a slanted AF.

but the MM is not a 21S MM. It is too big. I think this was changed because a small MM would be too obvious a mistake.

The mm is definitely wrong. As far as the weight and diameter being spot on, seems funny that someone is up at 3:30 in the morning (United Kingdom) that normally sells scarves, and has a scale and a set of calipers handy. lol. Who knows. I think we could all be in agreement though, FAKE. lol

I think we can all agree this is not a 79 w/ 78 reverse.

now for 79 rev 79:
I admit the eagle's feathers more closely resemble a rev 79 over a 21
I admit the mintmark resembles a rev 79 MM

but

this is not a slanted arrow feather reverse 79.
Using the zoom on ebay shows fat parallel arrow feathers like a rev 21.
(select the pictures, then click again to overlay the images over the auction, then click again to get the magnifying glass zoom)

I think this is a frankencoin and a fake.

I see where you're coming from MsMorrisine. The top feather appears to be parallel not slanted, but the PAF isn't that wide or is this an effect of the imaging and is really slanted?

EDIT: 1921 Morgans do have a wider top arrow feather than the 2nd reverse (PAF).

The illusion about the slanted arrow feathers is explained by lighting coming from 12:00 and the fact that the space between the top of the feathers and bottom of the olive branch is sometimes slightly raised or filled with die polishing lines, much as some areas around the wreath bow and the space between the back of the eagle's neck and left wing. The mint mark is the correct size for 79-S Rev. of 79.
