4 Grades are In, including a couple of Top Pops. :)

Everything graded as expected and that pleases me. This is the first time I have had another TPG's holder upgrade at PCGS.

The only quarter sent in. Former NGC MS67.

POP 2/2. Bought this RAW. Looking for better...
In August 2013 this would have tied Top Pop but two were just recently graded in MS64 and MS65 and I have no idea who has them.
Will be interested to see if they surface somewhere.
It graded as expected.

Pop 2/0...former SEGS MS64FB but sent it in raw.
I'm always looking for upgrades but I am very pleased with this grade as this was how I thought it should grade.

Pop 1/0. Former ANACS MS66 but sent it in raw.

Congrats on the Top Pops and surprised to see a Beautiful Quarter with Those Dimes, Whats the story with that? Its so much fun to seek these out and when the grade comes back closer each time, makes you feel alittle more confident in grading. Nice Job.....Enjoy image

Thanks! These took 26 business days as they were entered on 9/24. That is pretty good including variety attribution which is normally about 5 days.

I am now waiting on just one more coin at PCGS, my 1929-S DDO PCGS MS65FB that went in to visit for the restoration service.
I hope to hear something within the next two weeks or so as they say it takes 4-6 weeks.

    I'm a happy camper. image

What a gutsy devil sending in a former SEGS encapsulated coin. And it up-graded! Good eye ... No, I take that back: Great eye!

Congrats! Man, if anyone can get me interested in Mercs, it's when you post images of your coins. You find these things just about everywhere you look, and they're always nice, most all have been white, as I recall (maybe a toner or two, but I really think most are white), and they just look so, well, 'regal' and worth collecting (not that they aren't collectible, I meant to say they can easily make you WANT to collect them.

Congrats again, on the new top-pop (that Washie looks good, real good, but a Washie has to be something special in another's plastic to cross at 67), but it's still a beauty!

As an aside, man, EVERYONE but me seems to be hitting them out of the park....these by the OP, the Washies Tom showed us in that other thread......I haven't made a top pop, or tied one in quite some time (not saying that I SHOULD, but I used to do pretty well, and now, it seems I'm shooting blanks....don't go there, pervs!). It's getting frustrating!!! If this keeps up, I might go all 'numismatic' (like going 'postal', and I think it sounds pretty good! lol) on someone!!! lol

    edited to spell 'these' correctly
    I'll come up with something.

On the '35 Washie, which I've been looking at, a lot, maybe making myself believe it should be a '+', but I digress...on the eagle's right wing, is that 'U' shaped mark...is that a lamination or a strike through, or just toning or....??? It's a gorgeous '35 (what the hell are you doing with a Washie, anyway???? lol)
    I'll come up with something.

Awwwww, DIMEMAN, you make me blush. image

Chessman - Besides the Mercury Dime Variety book that I am writing and hope to have out early to mid next year (along with an iPhone/iPad/Android App)... I would recommend
Treasure Hunting Mercury Dimes by John A. Wexler and Kevin Flynn, 2005 2nd Edition.

    Thanks sparky, dpoole, Mark, NotSure.

NotSure, the 1935 was sold prior to me even submitting it. I think it is pretty nice. I expected a 66 out of it but I held out a little hope for a 66+. Not sure about the 'U', I would have to give it a good look when I get it back.
What makes the quarter way cooler than any other PCGS MS66, in my view, is the doubling on IGWT and I am not aware of any others. The quarter was originally purchased as I was thinking about using it towards a birth year set for someone but I think I have too many things going on so that birth year set will have to wait a while. I had posted the quarter in a thread and received a positive PM about it, I told them it was theirs if they wanted it. Done, I just had to get it back into a slab after I had cracked it out of the NGC holder. As soon as I get the coin from PCGS, I will take a good look at it and ship it off to the new owner. image

I did see the doubling immediately. With my CPG being a few miles away, I can't be 100% certain, but I really don't recall there being a DDO for this coin, but this doesn't look like shelf doubling, so, I thought that was uber cool in and of itself, besides the coin being extremely well struck. Too bad you don't have it for awhile, get that checked. And I have to agree with Mark, with that being a gutsy move. I just PM'ed another member stating that SEGS has the rep for being pretty good on pre-modern series and good with varieties, and can even be considered undergraded by todays standards........ as evidenced by your upgrade score on that gutsy move! But, like my dad says (and he's not a gambler, just Powerball).....'you gotta bet big to win big'. You took a gutsy chance, and you won big with a 65FB from our hosts!!

Oh, and I'll send you my shipping address so you can send that Washie to me, as I don't think I have sent it to you yet! image
    I'll come up with something.

There is a 1935 FS-101 DDO Quarter but this is not it. Something different and fun for the new owner. image
