New holder stigma?

We all are aware of attention that the earlier PCGS green holders, doilies, and rattlers have. I'm wondering how the market feels about newly slabbed PCGS coins. I just had a lot of old slabs regarded and are now in new holders. Does it matter? I hope to God it wouldnt.

    I do not care for the look of the new "gradient" labels. All things being equal, I would choose the coin in the OBH. image

    Of course, all things being equal, I would pay more for the coin in the OGH. image

    When it comes to red copper, the older slabs are better. It the coin is still unspotted and still red after being in a slab for 15 or more years you can be sure the color is stable.

    I'd stay away from RD designated copper in new slabs...especially 19th century copper. Other than that, my thinking is that the new slabs also contain many "multiple try"-type coins...where the coin is more likely to be maxed out. But to be fair, I think the same thing everytime a new generation of slab comes out. It's more of a faulty confirmation bias on my part than an actual fact. Pretty soon those blue-fade-to-white labels will look old, too.

    Honestly, when I look at a coin I don't see the holder.

    The only stigma I can think of is that it is a safe bet that it was graded recently and may not be the best candidate for a re-grade/reconsideration/crack-out and resubmit etc. image

    The new "fade" inserts remind me of ANACS inserts and I keep hearing "it's a new day at ANACS" in my head when I see them.

    I think that the idea behind the new "fade slabs" is to make it harder for the counterfeit slab crooks to duplicate the label. Unfortunately so many slabs have been issued with normal label that probably won't matter.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Here's something that could stigmatize everything on the bourse of the next show you attend. All slabs currently on the market have a grade assigned at which the seller is comfortable selling.

    New holder, old holder doesn't matter (except for old holders lending credibility to a copper coin's stability). What does the coin look like, and what's the "dollar grade"?
