Saw it a couple of weeks back and I don't remember the price then but I think it's the same. Nice colors and like said the norm for a PCI holder. Think I would rather buy a nice rainbow Peace in a PCGS or NGC holder for that kind of money.
I got a feeling that it would cross to PCGS and at a better grade like a 64 or better.
Coin looks like a 65 based on those photos, but they're also really bad pics and the lighting could really be hiding some marks/cleaning. I can't even tell what colors those actually are because of the lighting, I'd guess they're much brighter than in the pics. I think it may be a nice coin, but it's priced at close to 1.5x it's value even so.

I see no reason why that wouldn't cross at grade or higher. I've had excellent results crossing green label PCI gold coins to PCGS (most graded higher at PCGS).
Looks beautiful and appears to be typical PCI holder toning. Im surprised PCI only graded it MS63. It looks pretty clean to me. I would crack that baby give it one chance at PCGS and if all fails it will look beautiful in a 7070 type set. The holder its in can only do one thing for the coin...that is to explain how it toned the way it has.
I had a few PCI slabs of that era for which I was the original owner, and some were toned like that. It's probably a combination of the label and the plastic off-gassing. Nothing deliberate.
I think I have to wonder why the owner has already crossed it to PCGS or NGC. Could it be its AT and he thinks it may come back in BBD.
The coin looks much nicer than 63. I would be tempted to crack it and submit it. Assuming I had no more than 300 in it I would submit it, roll the dice. Then if it came back ungraded well it makes a nice raw piece for an album or blowout at starting bid of 99c.

Crosses don't come back in body bags.
Leaving it in the PCI holder may help explain its toning. Crack and submit it raw and odds are poor. We all know what PCGS thinks about colorful Peace dollars. Lance.
Colors are juiced. For 2400 I would never touch it I see that kryptonitecomics has two monster toned peace on auction right now, that are going way too cheap, and they're NGC holdered to boot.
Looking forward to learning more about coins from fellow well respected numismatists
I bought this one raw about 20 years ago and then a few years latter I sent it to PCI. Kept it for awhile and then sent it to NGC several years latter. I've often wondered if I should see how PCGS would grade it. It was toned raw just an example of grade differences. I really need to take some newer pictures of the NGC holder.

They are both from the famous 314 leather pouch hoard that are widely considered to be AT.
I love how certain some folks are about whether a coin has been sent in to another service or not, what the grades are, and what the colors are (NT/AT) from a photo...

That coin rocks. It'd stay right where it is if it was my coin. Small white Anacs, old Fat Ngc, and pretty target toned PCI coins stay in their holders in my collection...
The person selling this coin is a true blu color person...His coin site is very well put togther and his coins are legit. I have dealth with him many many times. The red tag his is way of saying its a really nice coin, it does not mean anything more then that. The owner of the coin site in NOT a member here, so he cannot answer for himself...Kameron is honest and stands by anything he sells..check his coin at ChristisenCoins... if there is some at coins, they are sold has at coins, all I have seen here is coins that would cross over by our wonderful host and others.. aps

I agree 100%. I've met Kameron a few times and have done a few deals with him as well. It's always been a positive experience. He is quite picky with the coins he buys (in a good way) and I've found that he only buys the best of the best when it comes to color.

I agree. Kameron is very honest, easy to deal with, and good at communication. I'm just not crazy about the effects used to bring out color in many of his ebay auctions. Sometimes he'll present "daylight" shots as well, which are more realistic.
Hard to say about OP's Peace dollar. It might be spot on. Lance.

I don't think PCGS would cross it though.

<< <i>Suspect to me. If that is truly ring caused toning then why is the toning in an arc? Shouldn't it be
circular?

I thought it was paper label caused toning?

Here is but one of my PCI examples to compare it with.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I love mine, and feel its much more original, but I still like the looks of your coin.

<< <i>The PCI label says "95% white". That's pretty strong evidence for PCI label toning.

Is the PCI label impregnated with sulfur??
I have had a couple PCI coins come back questionable color, and that one I would expect to be the same.
I no nothing about this sticker- could be the dealer's logo
I like it and would likely leave it as it is.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I'd leave it in the PCI slab and try a cross at any grade. Worth a shot and it would be a major win in a PCGS holder.

I bought one coin from him and returned it. I'll bet this Peace dollar is nicely toned but I believe the colors are exaggerated.
