Sometimes eBay sellers are too benevolent. Or blind.

Was watching an Bay listing and noted that it is the error spelling of Wasington variety from the beautiful high relief Series Numismatica Birth and Death medals as cataloged by Baker and subsequently by Rulau & Fuld ("Medallic Portraits of Washington"). From the seller's response to a question by another watcher, indicating no edgemarkings, I knew it had the right appearance for an original bronze 1819 piece. Got it today, and immediately was pleased to note that it is in far superior condition (AU) than noted by the seller(VF), but...it is also edge marked with incuse block letters - MONACHI. Indicates this was apparently struck in Munich, Germany and is identified by Rulau & Fuld as B131A - the scarcest of the 1819 bronze varieties and about 3X more rare than a similar condition B131, which was struck in Paris, France.
