Yeah pretty crazy. Here's a link to one of the ways it's done. I wonder how many good coins were ruined from doing this.

While having no place in a real collection they could be nice pocket or display pieces.
Being a child of the 60s I find their psychedelic appearance appealing.
Art is in the eye of the beholder and I like them!
