The marks in the field in front of Miss Lib almost look intentional. Otherwise it has a great strike and
nice reverse color (for a Peace). Probably would not grade as I think it was dipped before it re-toned
to try to rid the bag marks.

I agree that the coin might bag for the damage in the obverse field.

I disagree with the other sentiments.

The strike is weak, even by 21 standards, and the reverse tonight is dark and mottled.

Although I think it should grade but see why it might not

Baged but it is a 21 and if you got it at the right price you will aways be ok if you ever sell it. Just me thinking ~ Type2.

I am in complete agreement with Jersey on this one. The hair is extremely flat as well as the neckline which has a large flat spot. It is very rare to find a fully struck piece but this is what I would call a below average strike.

I love looking at 1921 Peace $1's. One day I'm dreaming of getting a superb specimen, maybe in the MS66 grade.

    One day. Its gonna happen.

Here's my 21, graded as a 61, nice original and a bit better strike than the OP's.

Nice one cointime. That one is on the BST right? Is the strike on your piece as good as it gets? Can someone post one with a hammered strike?
Looked at quite a few MS pieces on Ebay and all seem to be very flat above the ear, even in 65.

Now that is truly a piece of art! That is about as full as you can expect from a 21. Notice the full upraised definition of the hair. Also the neckline has a full sharp edge, almost no flatness to speak of. What a great example, thanks for posting it! image

Morgansforever: First let me say, I didn't mean to highjack your thread image Yes, I have this on the BS&T forum. I have had this coin since the late 80's and only offering it to pay for some college for my son. That said, I cannot take a good picture to save my life, so I had PCGS grade and do a trueview so I can share and enjoy online myself as well. You know, the US of A is no question the greatest country in the world and we have the best workers having quality and pride in all we do. That said, in the US Mint's workers defence, this year having high relief and a little over 1 million being minted in just a few short days - they did the best job they could IMO. As far as my coin I would say it is above average strike, but there are others out there with a little better detail. Thanks for the kind words from you and coindude, and thanks for letting me share image There are a bunch of folks out there that take some great photos, so lets see them!!
