So, had 4 trueviews done on some coins in a submission that got released today. EDITED: The other 4, in the same submission, just got updated, so adding them now (sorry to those that already visited and were nice enough to guess)
I will post them, and state whether they started raw or slabbed (I did crack some out before sending in, so they were all seen raw).
Nothing was done to any of the coins by me after I cracked them (time between cracking and putting into flip was measured in seconds....no dipping, no flicking boogers on or off them, nothing).

Previously purchased as raw.

Not that I recall (I could be wrong). I purchased it in summer of 2003 in a NGC holder and it remained in the SDB most of that time. I may have taken it out for an image but I honestly don't recall doing so.

I could be mistaken as well. I recall huge images that emphasized the hit to cheek and nose and the ensuing discussion - this within the last year. Prob a different coin.
All very nice coins - like the 89-P. Looking very original!

<< <i>I really like the look of that Peace dollar >>
I also like the look!!!
1) Was NGC 64 now PCGS 64
2) Was raw (63/64) now PCGS 64
3) Was NGC 64 now PCGS GEN (alt surfaces)..?????
4) Was raw now PCGS 63
5) Was NGC 64 now PCGS 64
6) Was NGC 63 now PCGS 64
7) Was PCI 63 now PCGS 63
8) Was NGC 63 now PCGS GEN (cleaned....???)
When I sent these in, I did it for 2 reasons....first, my voucher was running out
On the 1898, I really thought it would go up a grade as it is so clean. I'll take a closer look when it comes back. I wish they would put what they saw, specifically, other than the GENeric "alt surfaces" or "cleaned". Oh well. Subjective

Number 1, number 2 and number 4 look nicer than the assigned grades based on the pictures. The others look to be correct. To me number 3 has a look that is very common with Morgans that have surfaces altered so I'm inclined to believe PCGS got it right on that one.

Wei, I agree with you on 1, 2 and 4...and that was part of the reason I cracked them as I expect higher grades (price isn't that great between grades, so not a big loss...and I bought them years ago so they were less anyway).
For #3, it does have a different look, but I do not have much experience in knowing "altered surfaces" and would like to hear what it may mean regarding this coin. Thoughts?

For me re #3, the fields look clean and yet odd.
