look at the obverse on by the second left star. It has a die crack that goes up into the jaw line.
1878-CC VAM 2B
For the VAM collectors putting together an entire 1878-CC run, this is one of the harder ones to get.
It is not recognized and attributed by our host, not is it a top 100, hot 50, or hitlist 40 coin.

This would make it a rarity on e-Bay.
For any collectors interested in 1878-CC VAM's, John Roberts did a book dedicated to the 1878-CC. It makes
attribution pretty easy. Not sure where it can be found, but it should be available somewhere.
reverse. Note the re-engraving of the left wing by the breast (your left) and note the re-engraving on the
upper chest area. I think it is an unknown, up to now, VAM.
If so, it was a heck of a deal.
If not, then it was overpriced.

I think your right. Look at the eagles right wing (left as you look at it)
On the row of feathers closest to the eagles breast count 6 from the top. Look at that gouge.
Also the 2b is the only one with that mint mark.
This would likely be designated as "2C" or "2B2".
Depends on if that person sends it into LVA for designation.

Yes, I see it and so did others it appears! Never seen that re-engraving before....New VAM
and 2B2 would be my guess.
