The Baseball Hall of Fame (as I saw it)

Well, it has taken a about a month, but I was finally able to sit down and chronicle my trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame as I promised. I will let the placards in the museum do most of the talking. It took me long enough to copy and paste all the pictures! haha. If you do have any questions about a particular picture let me know and I will try to help! I apologize for some of the pictures. I do take pride in my photography, however, with the different (mostly low) levels of lighting in the HOF, coupled with glasses cases, crowds etc. it was difficult for me to capture a great photo consistently. Hopefully you can enjoy the post regardless of those facts. Here we go...
When we first got to the Baseball Hall of Fame it was a beautiful day, so we decided to walk around the grounds a bit and enjoy the nice weather before we headed in. This weather vane was cool (It is atop the Baseball Archive which I am assuming is only open to VIPs or through appointments)

To the left hand side of the HOF, there is a small courtyard with a couple of statues:

Also, in the courtyard there was a small stone path leading to a very good catcher. My guess (from a distance) was Yogi Berra. But alas I was wrong...

Mr. Campanella

As you make your way along the front of the building toward the main entrance, there is a cool standings board that they update daily:

There is a door to the side of the main entrance:

The main entrance!

Just inside the main entrance:

These three gentlemen are tucked in a corner of the main lobby:

A little preview of "The Hall" from the main lobby:

The museum beckons!

The main stairs leading to any of the three levels in the Museum

We took somewhat of a detour to check out this theater that plays a ~13 minute video showing the essence of baseball:

Someone requested Ty Cobb pictures here you go!

Pete Rose doesn't have aplaque in the hall, but he does have some memorabilia!

For the Roger Maris request!

For all you Baseball movie buffs...

Another part of Cooperstown (We watched a high school game later that day)

If you've made it this far, congratulations! Thank you for allowing me to share the trip with you. Hal

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I really enjoyed that, thanks.

P.S. - Foo, I may have a much better shot of Maris' Record breaking as well if I recall. I will either post it in the a different thread with the older pictures I forgot about or I will PM you the picture
You can find the link at the Hall of Fame site. If I remember correctly, it is under the Plan Your Visit button.

I've also recently (somewhat) found that friend on Facebook. I'll be sure to send him a link to this thread as well.
I like how you saved the baseball card section for the ending... I was enjoying each pic, but I kept thinking, "Where are the cards??" Well, you did not disappoint. Thanks again!
Really enjoy the baseball display of how Ted Williams assessed his own hitting ability.
