Seems like the perfect answer to me. You can keep your overhead lower and can still sell on the BST, eBay, etc.
Also, I don't think the PNG would be too happy if you only had the affiliate membership and used it like a regular or associate membership. So unless you have $250,000 I don't think this is a viable option for the OP.
Edit: Savoyspecial has an excellent answer too IMO.
Taylor, I like your enthusiasm, but I think you're getting a little bit ahead of yourself. There are thousands of members here who actively buy/sell/trade successfully, but aren't members of PNG. Many aren't even members of ANA. Forget the titles and little eBay labels- pursuing them is a bit shallow. If you want to sell coins successfully now and in the future, just focus on learning as much as you can.

WOW! One of the first kind responses I have heard in a while. It is because of people like you that I keep coming back. The attitude here is kinda rude/negative.
Taylor you ask a Question and dont like some of the responses you rec, Let me say this. The more you give in to the response you dont like it will not halp you on this board. Just think about it befor you go on posting. You need to rember alot of the guy's and girl's here have been in it a long time so please take the help they give you and do the best you can with it. Trust me it takes a long time to get what they have, It did not happen over night, It's nice to see a YN on the board but you dont want to get on any one's bad side. Have fun posting and fun with your collection.
Currently I am still the youngest full member of the PNG. Somebody else has already posted the membership regulations but there are basic requirements every person seeking membership must meet to become eligible for membership. They are:
1. Be at least 21 years old at time of application.
2. Be a full time dealer for a minimum of 5 years.
3. Have a numismatic net worth of at least $250,000.
Those are just the very basic prerequisites. You also need a good working relationship with multiple existing PNG members, have a clean criminal record and be well known and have a good overall reputation in the coin dealer world. When I applied for membership in 2005 I was already attending all the national shows for several years but I had to "campaign" myself to become better known by the membership. You also need to be involved in the numismatic industry on a full time basis. That means you can't be a full time student or be a part time or vest pocket dealer but you don't have to own your own numismatic company. You can be a full time employee for someone.
Of the three very basic prerequisites I listed above, I don't know about number 3 as I try to refrain from making assumptions about other peoples' personal finances but I know the OP doesn't meet the criteria for requirements number 1 and 2. The OP can go visit www.pngdealers.com to find out more about the organization and its membership requirements.
P.S. If anybody is wondering I don't know for sure who the oldest living PNG member is but my best guess is it's Catherine Bullowa.

I would assume that there are quite a few benefits in terms of dealer to dealer networking being a PNG member. However, not only at this age but at the level you are operating (gleaning from your other posts) Taylor, I really doubt being part of the PNG will bring much benefit GIVEN it were even possible.

Couldn't have said it any better/nicer. I do have to question the financial part. Unless your parents just give you a blank check whenever you ask for one, and you just fill in whatever amount of money you want (much like a now banned member who wanted to think being a coin dealer was a simple, easy, no-brainer thing, kinda like opening a McDonalds franchise, and thinking he could just 'know everything' in a short time.....think 3 legged Buff), at your age, and I'm twice your age [I think], I couldn't POSSIBLY consider doing that. My student loans (and I was given 'alumni donations' due to playing football...no scholarships under Div 1), on top of all the other $$ spent on school, like gas. books, meals, new clothes, just to mention a few things...the money I'll end up paying wouldn't even dent that $25,000 (and I didn't go to MIT like Jeremy, man, THOSE bills must have been phenomenally high), so, there's NO money now, or a lot in the near future, so, unless you have absolutely loaded parents who'll dole out thousands whenever you want it, like the person I mentioned prior), I just don't/can't see this happening now (I mean as serious as you want to take it), or in the next 5 years. The YN's here that became successful (and they even have 'day jobs'), took their time, asked pertinent questions, LEARNED as much as possible, and STILL realized they needed to NOT jump in both feet first, you have to dip your toe in the water first.
You do really need to put the breaks on and slow down. I like/love your enthusiasm, but, at your age, you should be soaking up all the knowledge you can, 'vest pocket' a few shows, get to learn to talk with these dealers, learn the jargon, the ropes......then you'd need to decide about college. THAT will put a big crimp in whatever decision you make, so, is college in your future???? I'm not trying to berate you, convince you against anything, but when I was your age, I just got into the hobby, and this is something I could NEVER consider doing.....especially with having college planned at that age. I'm just saying this because you are very young, remember that I DO love your enthusiasm, really do, and it's nice to see you want to do this as a living...can't think of anything better than being able to make your living by doing something you love, especially if it's also your hobby!!! BUT, remember, at your age, your parents still make the majority of the rules, which you must abide by.
So, just as a general question, what is the highest dollar coin, whether CU guide, actual sales history, etc, that you own, and/or your actual inventory (or is it just 'your collection' that you'll be using for inventory)? If it's none of my business, I can appreciate your stance on that, but it might paint a bit of a broader picture and help make answering your question a bit easier, possibly with more advice, to boot. Remember, I love the enthusiasm, but at your age, a few years of really studying/learning, and listening to some of the best advice you can get on coins----and it's FREE advice here!---, I think this will make you a much better, defined, knowledgeable collector, which should help you be a better numismatist in general, and help make a really difficult decision you'll have to make in a few years....college or no college, and I bet your folks have college in mind for you.
Good luck, Taylor, but remember........LISTEN to these guys out here. They have forgotten more than you could ever hope to learn, and they are more than happy to help when you ask for it, but don't defy, at least publicly, the advice you seek....they know MUCH more than you do!
