Retired Registry Set question... QUESTION ANSWERED

DAMDAM Posts: 2,410 ✭✭
I was looking at the Eliasberg Set; U.S. Coins Complete Basic Set, Circulation Strikes (1792-1964). I noticed a few coins have the plus (+) grade.

The question; does that change the retired set's Weighted GPA? Or is that simply ongoing tracking of the coins he owned?

If the latter, is that done for other sets too, where a coin's prior ownership can be linked by provenance?

I think most on here are like me and have very little interest in the make believe registry sets. I have a hard time getting interested is what a set might of been like that consists of a set that was sold before the company doing the grading was even founded in most cases. This might be why you have got very few responses to the question.

This was a great and original question. My assumption is that it would not change, but that is just a guess.

    Hi Dan,

When Louis Eliasberg coins are sent through for pedigree/grading, we update the sets with the new grade and it does change the GPA. We only do this for a few of the major collections that were retired before the Registry existed.
