I'm a bit dense tonight, but is this guy saying what I think he is saying?** hopefully, resolved**

Had an Ebay Auction end tonight for a 2006 ASE RP 70 PCGS Link to auction here

The auction winner paid for the coin and wrote:

I was under the impression that this item was 20 items (per my filters. I was going to refuse to follow through the auction,
but I did some due dilligence and discovered that I had made a "buy." So I am going to keep the coin and add it to my collection.

I will also rate you superior in all aspects with the exception of the discription, because it should have very clearly stated that I
was bidding on one coin and one coin only.

That aside, Thank you for putting such a magnificent coin up for auction.

Is he really saying that the way I listed it he thought it implies that he would win 20 ASE reverse proofs......graded PR70???

If so, I am very weary to send it to him, perhaps explain in writing that they usually sell for
this price or more and give him the opportunity to back out? What do you think?

I am a bit concerned of a negative.

Idiot. I would contact eBay. Read the Q&A at the bottom. You answer one person's question with "The auction is for the coin imaged" ...it does not say COINS, it says coin. The Precious Metal Content: is listed as 1 oz, not 20!!! Your description says 1oz. There is nothing confusing about the auction!!! image

You can refund his payment anytime, but I am not certain about canceling the auction after payment has transpired.

If he has not yet paid then I would cancel the auction.

What a tool, refuse his money and cancel the auction (not really sire how it works).

Nothing states he was bidding on 20 coins either, so since his filters suck your auction is not listed correctly? I would keep e-mailing questions for weeks before I sent.

    What a donkey.

I would have to have way more than 8 Becks and 8 shots of Scotch to think this auction was for 20 coins! I might bid too much thinking ti was "rare", or not bid at all thinking I don't need such a thing, but I'd still be dealing with ONE! One wonders what else he did tonight... image

He refers to his win as a "coin" (singular...not plural). He also implies that his previous impression of 20 coins was incorrect. Basically, he's admitted that he figured out that the auction was for one coin, and he's following through. Sell him the coin!!!

If he states in my feedback something like that, it implies I was incorrect, when I was in fact not in error.
Trying to explain that away is difficult.

    "Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting me about your concern. I feel that I did a substantial job in clarifying that I am selling one coin, as I have, throughout the auction, stated '1 oz,' as opposed to '20 oz,' 'the item' as opposed to 'the items,' and a Silver American 'Eagle,' as opposed to 'Eagles.' In fact, nowhere throughout my entire advertisement do I see a reference to 20 silver American Eagles. The title clearly described my listing for a 20th Anniversary issue.

I strive and work hard to maintain a 100% satisfaction rate, and I hope we can find some way to maintain that in our deal. If you would like to cancel your bid, and get a full refund, I have no problem doing so.

    Best regards,

He probably is new to computers or new to eBay, and did a search for "20 ASE" and saved it in his profile. When the search results came up, he placed a bid without even looking. Typical bidiot.

Steph, you are not dense, he or she is. Your listing makes no claims to multiple pieces. Pretty clear to me that the listing is for one RP. I would message the buyer in simple terms, the listing is for one 2006 RP MS70 ASE. Best of luck Steph.

why not thank him for the purchase and welcome his ideas as to where the confusion was,
then gently mention the text which describe a single coin, including the cert #, singular tense used, the photo of a single coin

I did pretty much as stated in my first post. I wrote and thanked him, I also explained the best I could
exactly what he won(he actually won the coin at a great price for him). I also stated that perhaps his filter
picked up the phrase 20th. Anniv. and he took it to be 20 coins.

    He replied:

I have decided that this indeed a great buy! I do not wish for a refund, and there is not a "neutral" in your near future,
at least from me anyway. I am sure the 20th Anv. is the kicker. I have been bidding on 20 coin sets now for several days
so you can see where I got confused. In any case ship it, from as near as I can see from research, I got the best end of this
deal ... not that I am gloating or rejoicing in another's sense of lose.

Soooo, I guess it will end on a good note, but one never knows until the day after leaving the feedback is overimage

Thanks for letting me bend your ears guy's!

Good thing he didn't decide he'd overpaid.

A guy used the exact same excuse a few months back on 5 set box of 2011 25th Anniv ASEs. He ended up cancelling the purchase. I relisted it and it sold for $250 more. Is the buyer in Las Vegas???
