He is questioning whether it is really the "inverted mintmark" variety...

Not my series. Can't offer much more.

It definitely is the inverted S variety. Anybody that knows the diagnostics can see that!

There have been a number of negative posts from him this week. Towards Rick Snow and now here, towards the owner of the Inverted S MS65 Example. Messed up.

if making inquires about varieties is stirring up crap, then there is going to be a lot more stirred up image

in all actuality, the reason i posted is i've found numerous incorrect images on coinfacts and coming here to verify first before contacting pcgs directly seems like a good idea, of course unless the people i am requesting assistance from are fragile and presumptuous.

people love blowing things out of proportion and w/o finding out the facts first. a bad habit i must say.

OK, what makes you think it is not an inverted S?

Do you even know the diagnostics?

A very hypocritical statement coming from you, I must say image

It is simple to grab a MS64, MS66, MS67+FB, MS68FB and another MS68FB all 1942-S Coinfacts Images then crop the images in Photoshop for a quick comparison...or maybe buy a book like the latest Cherrypickers' Guide (but...in another thread you showed you did not like cheap books and researching things yourself...and it seems that you actually like taking advantage of others helping you while flipping them off at the same time). You can easily study the images yourself while taking note of the differences. I don't see a reason why anyone should spoon feed you information any longer. No one here is fragile or presumptuous but I am pretty sure most people don't like lazy people that just want to be spoon fed information when it is quite possible to figure things out yourself, and then have you insult them at the same time.

I saw this thread earlier in the afternoon. I refused to reply to it and help you. Once Dimeman came into the thread, I figured I would as well. There are only a couple of very active Mercury Dime Variety specialists around here, not that it matters to you, and I am not sure any of them will be eager to help you moving forward.

I agree. He could find out the facts all by himself very easily.

the diagnostics are easy to recognize for the inverted s. for some reason the one on coinfacts didn't look right to me but i now see there is no question about it.

cross-reference for this thread that also shows the inverted s very nicely in the images by fcloud.

feel free to keep posting. i have other work to do now. the 42-s inverted mm for the 10c is not in the 4th edition vol. 2 cpg btw. i ordered the 5th edition and i'll look to see it is in there.

What's comical here is your signature line that says "Have a question? SEARCH THE ARCHIVES!" and yet you just now decided to do this at the end. image

It doesn't seem to be his style to apologize for anything. Although, in another thread he showed his willingness to ask for help, receive that help from the foremost expert in that field and then flip him off. Style!

FWIW, The coinfacts ms65 example matched the picture in the fifth edition of the cherrypickers guide. Just checked it.
