    To the IHC:
Call me crazy, call me nuts.
I'm seeing something, and I think "Whats...
that dark area in the head dress and hair ? "
    Maybe it's rub. Could I guess ? Should I dare ?
If it is, then it's something that no one ever could fix
And if it's not what I'm seeing, then I'll guess 66 image

Maybe it was one of those newly hired graders that hadn't seen nice copper yet??? image

  • Of course going by pictures is always tough but those look as original as can be.

I feel your pain Mel. I just cracked out some to send back to see if PCGS gets it right the second time. However, I do think they got it right on the IHC, but no way on the 1914. Either way the problem I see repeatedly is on the early cents. The copper mixture/source is distinctively different that the color variation is on post war copper. I think folks get use to seeing cents from newly busted rolls and can not comprehend a cent sitting in a wool purse for 75 years and "aging".

    Crackem and send them back!!

I would of guessed MS64 rd on the Indian and MS65 rd on the Lincoln.

Is there any indicators as to why they were deemed questionable color. I sure cant see anything to make me conclude that.
Its not easy to perceive color in an image too be sure. Odds are one or both will slab net go around.
