Just thinking, well actually been contemplating this for a while....

How difficult would it be to complete a 7070 with nothing but errrors (sans gold)? I don't mean varieties but
actual errors (clips etc). Would it take a while or even be possible? Has anyone done it yet?
Any links to sets in progress or completed?

Bob, can you please explain 7070 for those of us who aren't hard-core Registry folk? image

I did a Google search but only found lots of registry sets containing PCGS coin #7070, which is apparently a Morgan.

Were you able to complete it Stone? How far did you get?

A 7070 is a type set of one coin of each denomination. Like one wheat cent, one memorial cent, one shield cent, etc.
It refers to the Dansco album of the same number: Dansco7070 album.

I didn't get into the gold, but it was nearly complete...the Seated and Trade Dollars along with the Capped Bust Halves were the only missing coins...I think; could have been a couple more

It is absolutely doable. And many of the early coins, theres no premium for some errors because they were all too frequent. Sounds like an interesting type set IMHO

Ah yes that sounds familiar. I think I have heard of that before probably here on the boards. Well if that's the deal, then it sounds easy, especially for types circa 1900-today. I know I've seen errors in all those types here on the boards and for sale elsewhere.

Someone recently started a "post a pic" thread of errors, check it out. You can check off the list of 7070 coins and get an idea of what's available in the marketplace. I'm pretty sure none of the pics posted are unique examples.
