Anyone buy from these auctions?

Seems like on many of these items they are getting very strong money. In some cases (Like $20 Saint in MS64) they seem to be selling for more than you can buy them for retail on APMEX. Are people that dumb, or are these bids padded?

Bid on Site = 2,150
PCGS = 2,295
APMEX = $1,885 Buy

    I've looked into a lot of those auctions- both online and in person. As surprising as it may seem, a lot of them aren't padded- people actually bid & pay way over retail for coins. Probably explains why so many non-numismatic-specialized retailers charge $50 for a corroded common date Morgan...

    dont forget to add the buyers premium.... on many of these sites, the sellers dont pay all the fees, the buyers pay thier share. and shipping is usually rediculous

    i tried for a while and they do have some cool stuff to bid on but i was simply not even close to winning anything i bid on. it is like the people bidding and winning there think it is the only place to buy coins ?
    since you bring it up, i may try again but i doubt it will go anywhere.

    Just looked at the Musical Instruments category for comparison; it's full of low-end imports.

    How is this any different from eBay and Bay-wannabes? Looks a little sketchy like one of those QVC companies ...

    It says it's the "official website" but right underneath, "A PRIVATE CORPORATION"

    All those margin ads don't help instill confidence, either.

    I am pretty convinced there is something not right. If they could get these prices, they could charge more than eBay for sellers and everyone would be ahead.

    Agree, a few shill sales would make other buyers think they are getting a good deal.
