Bryce Harper: Hold or Sell?

I have a 2012 Topps Chrome Black Refractor Bryce Harper /100. Sell while he is hot now? Hold and take a risk his cards will get hotter?

He is hot, and few that I have gotten 2013 "out of bounds" and 2013 Black variant */62 I sold both for $100 each. Not sure if he is the real deal or hype. Like anything else, its all gamble.

I typically think about what I am in on it....did you get it from a pack or trade....or did you buy it? I think it would go for $150-200 now depending on condition. Just a few months back this card was well under $100 regularly, so if I had bought it for example, I'd be selling.

If you're looking for short term profits and you bought for less than it's going for now, definitely sell. Might be best to hold right now for maximum return; the kid has some great upside.

I'm currently in a holding pattern with my Harper rookie autos. For the base rookies, other base cards and non-auto variations, I've been unloading and been getting nice prices.

I agree with this too....the big upside are the autos. If it was a key auto I would be holding.

I am having a similar problem. I have a PSA 9 Harper 2011 Bowman Chrome auto that I spent $280 on last year, I could probably get $400-450 now. Normally I would jump on that profit and wait for a downturn, but I am a Nats fan, so its also a PC item.
Probably just going to hold on to it.

This kind of thing makes you think...but he seems like a grinder.

"Harper had to leave the game in the middle of the sixth after tweaking his left side on a check swing, which was actually the holdover from a bruise he sustained the previous night slamming into the wall trying to catch Tim Hudson's home run.

Harper completed the at-bat, grounding out sharply to first, but headed to the clubhouse after talking with Johnson and the training staff. He was listed as day to day.

Roger Bernadina finished out the game in right field.

"It got to the point where I couldn't breathe real quick," Harper said. "I had to catch my breath and it didn't feel very good."

Harper iced his side and got treatment. He hopes to be back in the lineup on Thursday.

"If I can play," he said, "I'm going to play. I can tolerate pain. Hopefully nothing will keep me out of the lineup." - ESPN

A few weeks ago, he puked three times before/during the game and went 3 for 4. Davey wanted to hold him out. But he said no way. He looked exhausted up to bat. He was held out of a few games last year and got pissed every time. He sprints out pop flies. The kid is a gamer. LOVES baseball.

I have a PSA 9 2012 Finest Red Refractor RC Auto /25 that I actually pulled out of a box. So my investment was just the box which was maybe $90 at the time I bought it. I think that card could fetch close to 1K. I'm on the fence with selling since I don't really have anything invested in the darn thing. But it would be nice to have that chunk of change. My gut tells me I'll regret selling it down the road. Someone convince me otherwise!
