I would want to take delivery before paying......

I personally would want some form of guarantee that we're looking at a legitimate coin in a legitimate holder before bidding on a coin like that in a place like eBay.

The guy has ZERO feedback as a seller and hasn't had any buyer feedback since 2011.

    Hacked account IMO.

Accorinding to the listing is CAC stickers means 'quality AND eye appeal'..

It should be for its technical grade only so long as the coin looks original to them.

No returns, low feedback, very interesting choice to put it in that type of auction.

Gorgeous coin, but unlikely to be a legit auction IMO.

I would give this auction a 1% chance of successful completion.

If this is the real deal, it is definitely one described in Jon Amato's wonderful new auction survey of 1796-97 Bust halves. Page 236: "1797, O-101a, late die state. 2009 Pre-FUN Sale Specimen. Extremely fine." ID markers all match up perfectly with those described. Provenance as described in Amato: "Kingswood Coin Auction (August 1999), PCGS XF 45, lot 373, $41,000; Pre-FUN (Stack's, January 2009), PCGS XF 45, lot 401, unsold."

    Interesting is an understatement ...

    Best Regards,

Yeah, I was going to say this as well, looking at the feedback and activity history of the seller, plus the images nicked from a popular dealer's web site, there is a 0% chance of this being a legitimate auction.

Hijacked account. Must be a new scammer, the experienced ones know that paypal holds funds until delivery when seller has less than 100 feedback as a seller.

That account has never been used to sell anything. All feedback is from sellers. Now this coin is offered for sale? LOLOL

What is it that gets the max fees now? See that it's bid up somewhat now. image
