If you type in techmarina under 'search category', there is a thread there from about a year ago with some good info.

    toolhaus.org neg/neutral feedback compilation

mostly a clean record - all items are listed as private, though. That may not scare most away, but would make me pause a little.
  • Funny. I just searched for him last night and read that thread. He has some intriguing cards for sale... of course the adjectives he uses to describe the cards are probably the most intriguing aspect to them.

Techmarina is an absolutely stupendous seller! He uses sharp imagery, spectacular item descriptions, snow white bubble mailers with no tip touches, and crystal clear tape with gorgeous sheen! In my professional opinion, I would rank him among the top 1% of all sellers, in any category!
  • Just saw that he sold a 54 Topps Hank Aaron lastnight that I was going to bid on, but wasnt sure about it. What do you think??

I wouldn't touch that card. If was as good as advertised, it would be worth getting graded before selling.

    Hello to you, Techmarina
  • Without doing my research about a year ago I bought off of Techmarina, The card ended up being trimmed, which a lot of their cards seem to be, and had to fight to get my money back. They claimed it wasn't there fault the card was trimmed and weren't going to refund me. So I filed a case and won it. I would stay far away from that seller! Like many of the collectors have already stated, Why would this seller NOT grade any of the "breathtaking" raw cards and make hand over fist? Hmmmmmmmmmm wonder why?

He's pulling the old Great Lakes Auction House shuffle...

    Buy a PSA 6....

Sell as raw for 100% profit.

Not to say he isn't up to other things -- but that is an oldie, but a goodie.

    edit: for math

"Our auction lots are discovered through recent finds at consignment shops, storage auctions, estate sales, or from priate vintage collectors. Many of the raw finds include cards that may have been tucked away for more than 50 years. These are all fresh-to-the-hobby treasures that sports collectors will surely enjoy."

Yep, looks like the same card.
I never understood those random closeups.

Is it possible the black background is photo-shopped to be perfectly square with the corners & edges?
May be black paper. He presents his cards well.

Nah, he just scans with the lid up in a darker room. Makes nice crisp scans on an Epson.

I also bought from him a year or so ago. A '59 Mantle and sent it immediately to PSA and paid for a quick turnaround. It came back trimmed but I had no problem geting my money back.

You can do yourself a lot of favors by never buying from someone who keeps their feedback private.
  • i guess the old desk drawer inventory finally dried up.

I thought that drawer would never run out of cards.

I would stay waaaay away from this sellers cards - no matter how nice they appear. Why not send these cards to PSA when they are in that nice of condition. Why loose a couple hundered to thousands by leaving them raw. Very suspicious. How can EVERY card of theirs look pack fresh. Trimmed, thats how.
  • The main business model seems to be cracking out graded cards and self-describing them higher:

    Buy

    Sell

Buy it PSA 6 and describe it as: "In our professional opinion, we believe this card could grade in near-mint+ to mint condition, depending on which grading company you choose."

I'm sure you can find many others.
  • I believe "limebomber" is one of the the buyers' username.

They appear to be the same card. But those corners are weird. In the case they are soft on the bottom right and top right. But out of the case, they look razor sharp. If its the same card, its either trimmed, or someone is gonna be upset.

All of the bidding is private to hide the shilling??
  • I like how he lists prices of the raw card but only in two grades higher than in the PSA case.
