1814 O.105a, R4. XF45/CAC. The single-leaf variety, the result of lapping to remove clashing by an overzealous Mint employee. Funny he couldn't remove the clashing bars at the ear. Lance.
<< <i>O-109 A R3 (AU-53) Perhaps what a coin looks like that never gets touched for 200 years...

This is without a doubt the single finest coin so far in this thread ( IMHO ) 1808's just don't come struck like this !....Please, Please let me know if you are ever passing it on !
Yes Brian, that would make it O-102 R4 marriage, instead of the O-101a R1 die state. Same obverse as O-101a, but different reverse. This reverse is shared with the common O-108 R2.
I value my O-102 PCGS 58 CAC Patched 3 higher than my O-101a PCGS 62 CAC Patched 3. They will both be in my collection for my widow to auction off.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
This one was purchased as an NGC XF-45. Mozin mentioned over on Coinzip that it may be AU, so I finally sent it off to PCGS and it came back AU-53! Score! There are but a handful of AUs for this one, so really cool!
Here is a O-107A with an III edge-R4 DS, R3 overall, though it appears that the edge lettering machine got messed a bit so there is only one III set. (Ex ANACS VF-20)

I posted an 1820 105a earlier in the thread.

That may be the nicest 1836 I've ever seen, Goldbully. Superb.

<< <i>1836 O-105 R4
One of these sold today in the SB auction for strong money, a PCGS 58 at close to $1,800.
Lance...I'm speechless......I like her too.

Here's a coin I share too often
O.101, R3

<< <i>Pretty 17/3, Brian. Looks like it has much of the 101a die crack, no?
Lance. >>
Thanks, and you're right - the crack is there, but it's extremely faint. So maybe it is an 'a'...
Does any sign of the crack automatically make it a 101a, or does it have to have extended to a certain point?

O-110 R3 (AU-53)
I believe this to be a classic example of a coin that got dipped a few times too many...

<< <i>There is something very special about this 1823 Patched 3. Anyone know what it is?
>>
Hint: Its Very Scarce...
Here is an R3 O-106 (XF-45), the "C" model: (c) The die crack through the left stars is heavier and a die crack appears on the reverse from D to ST.

There aren't any inner-right serifs on the bases of the A's?
