1912 Matte Proof Lincoln (PCGS PR65BN)
I owned this for a few months in 2011, then I sold it to Robec. I just bought this back from him today.

My colorful Matte Proof Lincoln set is looking good (IMHO).
I just have one MPL left on my wish list: the 1911, but it has to have eye appeal out the wazoo (not easy to find).
(The 1916 and 1909vdb are too expensive so I will just leave those holes. Although if I ever found an eye appealing 1916 PR64BN that was priced reasonably, I might spring.)

Fantastic reverse IIRC.

Sure send or post pictures, I would like to see.
It seems like you have owned or seen almost every MPL out there. Talk about your finger on the pulse of the collecting community!
Funny I had to look up "IIRC" on google ... (it means "If I remember correctly") ... i must be dumb because that never would have occurred to me. HA.
Actually the reverse has lots of little tiny gray flyspecs, so I think the obverse is the best side (JMHO).
Always better to have a better obverse than reverse though.

Funny, when I bought it originally I had no plans to try to put together a colorfully toned set (or even a partial set) of MPL's.
Then the bug bit me.

But, I really like that 1910...do we have larger image of that one you could post?
I'd like to wet myself on occasions....

Lablover, you are making me laugh.
The best shot of that 1910 was taken by CU member Robec when I took a chance and had him crack that coin out of a PCGS PR65BN slab and shoot it raw (which is the only way to fully capture the toning/color on BN or RB MPLs). This coin is REALLY DARK in hand, but explodes with color as certain lighting and viewing angles (some of the angles produce almost neon looking colors but tend to blast out and sort of flatten out when photographing and is not as attractive IMHO). It's interesting how some coins can have many different "looks" when photographing, depending on the lighting and viewing angles and there usually is a single optimal angle.
In any case I think this angle (used in these photos) shows off the colors the best). The reverse of this coin is about as beautiful as I have seen, with vibrant color and smooth as silk transitions. The obverse is marred a bit by red spots (almost looks like buckshot!) that encircle some of the toned areas around the word LIBERTY and cover portions of Lincolns jacket.
Phil's TrueView of this coin (an image I used in the coinboard above) wasn't quite as striking as Robec's photograph (IMHO), but still very nice. Some of the difference in photographs might be attributed to Robec taking HOURS to shoot this coin and shot a LOT of images, while Phil's TrueViews are shot in much less time (a few minutes I think, which I totally get with the volume of photography that Phil does).
In any case, I made a decision to use all TrueView photographs in my digital coinboard -- just so one removes the degree of freedom of using multiple photographers when displaying a set -- I think using a single photographer for set photographs provides more of a level playing field when displaying multiple coins (and gives one more confidence in making coin to coin comparisons).
In any case, when I had the "cracked out" previously PR65BN 1910 Lincoln regraded at PCGS about a week after cracking, the grade dropped to PR64+BN (from PR65BN). I did use the old grade on my coinboard just for posterity's sake. (PCGS did think it was a PR65 at one time!) The PCGS Price Guide difference between those two grades is minimal, but we all know that cracking a coin is risky. However with the work that Robec did with this coin out of the slab, I have to say it was worth the 1/2 grade drop.

Just for fun here is a photo from Robec of the 1912 posted in the OP, however this was shot through the slab, which always makes the color really hard to capture. You just cannot get as much light to the coins surface through plastic, and slab glare becomes a problem at many of the better viewing angles. Honestly this is a great shot with the "through-the-slab-plastic" handicap -- and of course there are slab scratches getting in the way in places.

Great coin and thanks for sharing!
By the way, CU Member EagleEye (of Eagle Eye Rare Coins) PM'd me a few minutes after I posted this last Thursday (where I voiced my desire for a monster 1911 in my OP).
He told me that he just acquired a monster 1911 MPL and was selling it.
The coin was in an Old Green Holder graded PCGS PR65BN when he bought it; so it had been slabbed for over 15 years.
He thought it deserved a PR66BN grade, so he submitted it back to PCGS for a re-grade --
but PCGS didn't upgrade the beast on his first submission, and PCGS reslabbed it in a new holder (same grade).
Ahh the benefits of posting on the CU Forum!
Here are some iPhone shots I made of the coin after it arrived at my house on Friday.
It's truly stunning! Fantastic purple color, tremendous gloss, hammered strike, and spot free. WOW.
So even though the 1911 thumbnail below in my Matte Proof Lincoln coinboard is not a resized TrueView photo (as are my other coins shown) --
I thought I would insert it using what images I had, just to get a rough idea of what my new set looks like today.
This coin is off to PCGS on Monday for a TrueView photo so I can update my coinboard with a top notch professional photo of my newest MPL, the 1911.
So this finishes an 18 month quest that I started in October 2011 to put together a reasonably-priced, mid-grade, monster-color Matte Proof Lincoln Set (sans the 1916 and vdb),
Now the only coin I might keep a casual "eye out" for is a colorful PR64BN or PR64RB 1916 MPL, however I am not holding my breath on that one.
There are just so few examples of that rare date, and color on 1916 MPLs is practically impossible to find.
