What really gets under my Skin about eBay..........

Not the scammers, not the thieves,

but the folks who honestly have no idea what they are doing so, they just make stuff up!

The listing title, "1967 P Silver Kennedy Half Dollar, DDR - ddr-50-967p-01", looks like the seller "might" have a clue. I mean, there's lotsa numbers up describing something.
Unfortunately, that "something" is simply machine damage doubling.

Then there's the sellers that, even after you've explained to them that its common and has no real value, continue to hawk these coins as "doubles".

I know that there is nothing I can do or say that will ever change anything and I know that those buyers that fall into these little "GOTCHA'S", will one day learn that they burned up a couple of bucks, but it just kinda irritates me.

Mainly because it honks up my daily search routines with a buncha junk. Yeah. I guess thats what irritates me the most.

not true. report the listings. i've reported a large number and gotten them removed. eventually the seller's run into problems on their accounts from successful reports.

Keyword spamming is not as good a flat out lie but it works sometimes. Use the direct link and ask that it be reviewed.

eBay may last forever but I surely hope they fail eventually. The policies are lopsided, buyers are given impractical time limits to buy an item and not pay for it. Then when you get fed up and offer it for a second chance to the next higher bidder, who does pay in a timely manner, the window shopper files complaints. Guess who wins in the resolution?

I think in two more days they are once again raising the rates which will effect those that are casual sellers more so than those that pay a premium for a store front. I had it figured out at one time what % I was paying total between PayPal fees and ebay and it was really a high percentage.

I have now received my last item ordered today, well yesterday now, and I have nothing listed for sale over there any more. I removed all my secondary funding accounts and have moved over to a place that offers 2500 free listings a month and a no cost store front. Sadly though everyone is ebay ingrained and the customer base is small and slowly growing but just not fast enough. I hope that others abandon ebay soon and look at some alternatives.

Tired of complaints against eBay. Every marketplace has misrepresentation, thieves, scammers, and crappy rules … I would say "except this one" but it's a forum of discussions, not a commercial business enterprise. The BST threads are more akin to friends trading in the backyard, than commerce.
