Lance: Does that mean you think these are fakes? >>
i didn't spend much time looking at them. if they are fake, they are pretty good for the little time i spent looking. got a ton of things to do this evening and if there isn't a consensus on them i'll offer my meager opinion. baltimore has a lot of people tied up right now i'm sure, so opinions may be sparse.
i just wanted to give a heads-up that if you (or someone else) lays with this dog don't be surprised to wake up with fleas. .
I can find the die marriages (O.113 and O.105). But that doesn't mean they aren't copies. Really doesn't matter. They have been ruined and have no numismatic value. Lance.

+1 transfer die (authentic die private restrikes too) information has really been on my radar recently and vastly effected how i authenticate/attribute some coins. just when you think you're ahead of the game, grrrrr
there are many days i do not envy the TPGs facing a lot of this stuff .
Quick question for you guys -- when I click on the links for both coins, all that comes up is a message that the auction has been ended, and there are no images available. Is there a way to pull up an image when e-Bay has cleared all the information?

Perfekt Seller! Great communikations! 5 Stars! Beatiful Ring!
Can't really tell on the 1827, if it's a real coin that got the ol' whizzola until it looks fake, or what.
The 1833 looks real enough to me, but harshly cleaned.
Of course I'll bow to whatever the Overton wonks and Bust Half Nuts have to say on this matter.

And the 1833 looks fine - just over-dipped.
