Economy Turn Around Times

Hello, I was just told by PCGS customer Service that Economy Turn Around times are now at a whopping 40 business days with incoming coins sitting in the receiving room for at least 72 hours before being logged in. Also, crossovers already in 2012 had 37+ days turn around days so what does this mean for 2013 ????

Anyone know the issues???

My coins arrived at pcgs on tueday feb 12. They were logged into the system the 13th. Included were 1 regular submission(2 coins for reconsideration) and 2 economy submissions(1 crossover and 4 Raw) and all get the trueview and a few attributations add a few more days, But The Coins Are Safe and IN there Hands.........I am not in any hurry please just take your time and get them right. Enjoy

I sent in two submission end of Dec.

They logged in the regular one within 3 days I think after it showed delivery.

My economy one wasn't logged in until 7 days. I sent both in the same box, with different packaging each marked on the outside with regular or economy.

The turn around times always vary greatly from one time period to the next. I try not to sweat it, because frankly, Once the grading is complete, I realize I was always happier dreaming about the good grades I'd get, instead I'm always disappointed. I don't have any advice for the waiting, except try to ignore it. The more you check online for results, the more anxious you'll get. The only thing I check is to make sure they get logged in, after that I just let time pass.

I wish you better luck on the results, than on the short time.

My log in times are usually between 2 and 3 days.

I guess when they say 40 days, it should mean 43 days.

I've had coins in since Dec. 12. No grades yet.

December 12th? Wow. I feel your pain! I had an Economy submission on December 10th, I got it like two weeks ago.

I keep checking on my January 9th submission, guess I need to cool my heels.

Wow! Gotta be a record....

Joined Aug 2007 and the first post was today, Feb 18th, 2013 to mention economy turnaround times.

I've seen low post counts before, but that one has gotta be a record

I sent them my last submission last Monday Registered mail and it logged in Saturday. And that 40 day figure has been on the web site for the last couple of months.

I had an economy submission logged in the 12th as well and got mine two weeks ago as well.... 27 coins too...
Weird yours should be taking so long...

The number of coins processed in the last 30 days are at an all-time RECORD. They hit 254K coin certs in the last 30 days just the other day. Keep in mind, they did all of 359K all of last quarter. When they were at their peak a couple of years ago, they did 550K coins in one quarter. They might do 600K+ this quarter with a possibility for 700K. Backlog is also at a record. They are advertising that they are HIRING coin graders (as in multiple). The US Mint is producing a RECORD amount of coins so far for 2013. Legendcoin just posted that they had a RECORD February when this month is usually slow. They also reported that the PCGS show at the end of this month is sold out.

From what I can tell, things have never been better.

So far my oldest submission is an Economy Crossover logged December 14th and so far no grades posted ... at the rate things are going I am expecting it will be March before I see anything.

My economy submission of 5 coins got there on 01/04, grades were posted on 02/15, look forward to getting the coins back!

Oh, and I'm really happy with the grades too!

No issues just making good $$$ on slabing coins. My 4 submission's should be in this week i hope.
