Genuine Coins

Looking around at different sites I see coins listed genuine. Some are rare date but some are relative common.
I don't understand why you would buy a genuine coin unless it is a filler for some rare date but even some of them have a big price tag.
Would you buy a genuine coin? Why not buy the best grade you can afford?

However, that being said, I have owned many that were problems that were picked
up in collections. Was surprised at the values many had over melt, etc. There appears
to be a market and some are willing to pay a "premium" over the obvious reduction
the problems cause.
And I'm referring to non CC coins which almost always sell, regardless of the problem.

a genuine - or you may never have another chance
I like this "Genuine" Type 1 Double Eagle. It has a small scratch. Not a big deal to me.
