I actually carved this myself a couple of years ago. I live in an extremely right wing community in eastern Tennessee. Enjoy the occasional pulling of the chain. image

That's not a bad idea, even if there only ended up being four or five entries!

And yep, the Merc Rev pumpkin is definitely cool.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

lordmarcovan, 4-5 entries wouldn't be bad as this contest would require wielding a sharp knife on a pumpkin without causing serious personal injury! image

Wow, that's something funky to come up with on a coin search. Certainly makes an impression! You know if I were to do one, it would be a variety!...if I could pull it off.

A friend at work did this kind of fancy pumpkin carving. He used software he found on the internet that converts a picture to a pattern/stencil which can be printed out and then used to cover the side of the pumpkin. A pin is then used to punch numerous holes around the border of each design element of the pattern. The pattern is then removed and the pin holes can be used as a guide to show you where to carve your pumpkin. He used a pic of one of the women in our office whose birthday was near Halloween and created a jack-o-lantern with her portrait on it that was amazingly good.
