I was getting ready to list a few now and then I realized where everyone will be next Sunday.

Serious question...in Canada is the Super Bowl watched as religiously as it is in the U.S., and if so are there dedicated followings to certain teams or do people watch because of novelty? And how is the viewership compared to the Grey Cup game?

Have to say, last Super Bowl we had a lot of bidders on GC, more than usual and more than we expected...perhaps because there were fewer listing on eBay to get everyone's attention.

Did you get that Nolan Ryan card auto'd in person? or are you reselling it / came that way? He was one of my favorite pitchers, I've got a dozen or so of his cards. image

You've gotta start watching more gridiron football and lay off on the tennis. My offer to tutor from that trip to the airport in Baltimore still stands image

That's an insert card that came in packs back in 1998 so it's a legit autographed card and not something I took to a game to get signed.

Here in Ontario and I would assume across Canada, the Super Bowl is very widely watched.

We however never get to see the US commercials because our silly Canadian broadcasting rules says we have to have "Canadian content' in our commercials so we get to see some mickey mouse Canadian version of the US product.

Even when we view the US channels, the commercials are overridden by our Canadian commercials.

And back to the Grey Cup...it was a big one this year especially here in Toronto, because it was the 100th anniversary of the Grey Cup, hosted in Toronto and all the stars aligned because the Toronto Argonauts won it!!

But even so, I would say the Super Bowl here in Ontario and especially Quebec gets more viewers than the Grey Cup.

Thanks for answering. It's always something I've personally wondered about.

I know that some of the folks in the Vancouver/ Victoria area tend to be Seahawks fans so I assume the folks in ON and PQ are Bills fans or perhaps Patriots fans. And congrats to the Argonauts. I can only imagine how crazy Toronto would be if the Leafs won the Stanley Cup.

This will be a great Super Bowl. Some of us were seriously considering booking that package. For the first time in 18 years I'll (really) care about the outcome.

Back in my youth we use to take the bus to Buffalo to watch the Bills.

I remember once at Customs the US officer came into the bus and before he could say anything we all broke out singing "God Bless America"...he just shook his head and left.

In 1989 we decided to try and sell our home w/o a realtor.

Listed it the week before the Super Bowl.

On SB Sunday, we had one person show up for the Open House - they wanted it so bad we made a tidy profit.

I didn't watch last years Super Bowl as I was very fortunate to secure a Peale's Museum Admittance Ticket signed by Rubens Peale himself.

    image

Some History: Rubens Peale ran his museum in the Parthenon Building across from the City Hall from 1825 until he sold out to P.T. Barnum in 1843.

Every time I list an auction on E-Bay it is won by a sniper. Are the snipers too busy with media week to enter their bids? Besides, none of the coin collectors from Boston will be watching. Maybe one of them can bid on my auction.

I bought three Roman coins from an Ebay seller on Christmas Day 2004 around 5:00pm.

I made the bids from where we were having Christmas dinner.

Do I seriously need to explain to you why snipers are important with regards to the subject of this thread? Truly unbelievable!
