anyone ever seen a PCGS holder like this one?
Because i have never seen one labeled as such.

The cert.# is not available in the PCGS lookup. If that isn't enough to make you steer clear, then you might want to call PCGS customer service and inquire.

This could be one of the holders from the short lived Rarities Genuine service it cost like a $100 per coin and was only for about six months back before they started the current service.

Appears Ebay no longer has a requirement for pics of both sides

I wanted to see the reverse too... wonder if it still says Genuine Not Gradable or whatever on the reverse, even though not marked genuine on the front of the label?

the insert judging from the front only is PCGS 12-----except that only Bullion and Modern Commemorative coins were supposed to have been encapsulated in that style.
1911-D $2-1/2 Quarter Eagles are often seen counterfeited.
the cert # doesn't show in the PCGS database.

you can probably see where I'm going with this............................

yeah i knew it didn't seem right, it just jumped out at me while was scanning because of the placement of the "cleaned"

Yeah, I'm afraid that's true. Bad policy and no one at ebay has explained the reason for the change.

So, is this a fake, like keets is suggesting?

---after looking through some of my picture I see plenty of this style, only judging from the OP's obverse picture.

the strange thing about the cert # check is that if you enter the cert # 1660084 from the OP slab the response is That Cert is not available for display. if you enter the same number minus the last digit the response is That Cert Number was not found in the database.

If I want to bid on a coin and a full picture of both the obverse and reverse slab is not in the listing, I ask the seller
to send a picture.

And anyway ... even despite all the other obvious issues, why would someone who wanted a 1911-D buy a coin "certiified" as Weak D? Most collectors look for a nice, bold mintmark on the 1911-D -- or at least convincingly there.
