1638. Salzburg. Paris of Lodron (1619-1653) Taler. DAV-3504. KM-87. NGC MS-62 (Heritage Image).

1720. Olmutz. Bishop Wolfgang von Schrattenbach (1711-1738) Taler. DAV-1218. Large flan, beautifully golden toned original piece with a wonderful patina. NGC AU-58.

1746. German States. Free City Hall in Swabia. Taler. DAV-2279. KM-32. Wurster-1801. PCGS XF-40. (Heritage Image). Nurnberg mint. 800 Minted in total. A commercial and trade center, the town is located along a deep valley on the Kocher River. Swabia, comprised of lands in what is now southwestern Germany, formed a significant commercial and political entity in the 15th and 16th centuries, called the Swabian League. Owing its importance to its strategic position between the upper reaches of two of Europe's most significant rivers, the Danube and the Rhine, Swabia suffered considerable economic and property harm during the Thirty Years War.
