It can depend upon if you want circulated or MS/PR coinage. In general I would suggest JJ Teaparty, PonyExpress8 (Holsonbake Numismatics), MFH, amwldcoin, HLRC, DLRC and also me. No doubt I am forgetting some off the top of my head.

There's that one seller on eBay who always puts lots of kooky stickers all over their 2x2s, which say stuff like, "Same as 2 large pizzas"! image

Most of you who have done any eBay Barber searches know who I'm talkin' about.

Funny, I never used pizzas as an economic index, but eh, whatever works for 'em. Actually, I bought one or two pieces from them and it went OK. I was collecting raw circ Barber halves at the time.

I just talked to Brian yesterday, in my shop. He gave me some excellent advice.

I never thought of Brian as a source for halves but he's got a couple of nice ones.

If you are buying keys or higher circ. grades check multiple sources, prices among the above dealers sometimes vary widely (and sometimes don't).

There seems to be a price-jacking competition going on for a couple of issues...but I already have mine and don't care. image

Better eye candy... From a recent post of an AU-64 Dime of yours,
I think you may want to break down which of the 4 series of Barbers
attracts you the most. Dimes are a great place to start.

All of the dealers mentioned are great. Have fun searching.

Brian usually has only a handful of quarters, dimes and/or halves at a time on his website - 99% of them are very original coins with super eye appeal. You mention price gouging which has ramped up in recent times; Brian's pricing is always extremely reasonable. Couple that with the quality and it's a no brainer.

Brian is a great person to deal with

I agree with all dealers stated here. I think you will find that the dealers will be split between high grade coins and circulated mid grades.

Half the time I don't get to work with dealers as much as I should. I'm too busy feeding off upgrading fellow collectors. image
